What is it like?

This fall I will be starting to learn some of the basics in animation. It is funny how I feel like I am constantly starting over. Anyway I was curious as to how some of the animators on the board felt about working in the industry. How different is it from working in comics. If they enjoy it or if it is a love hate relationship.

Honestly I have always loved animation. It is the only reason I ever started drawing. Comics was always secondary and now that I am getting to chance to follow my dream I am curious about what kinds of experiences other have had.

Animation these days sucks here in atlanta. Pretty much dry. There are like two places really to get work from. One studio wont pay much since its flash animation,'98-'00 were the golden years here in atlanta. I'm just glad i'm not freelance anymore here.

wow seiously. It seems like the market is really drying up for the arts sometimes. I mean how can some one that is passionate about something get by without working at mcdonalds to make ends meet?
