From 1982 to 1992, John Gallagher and Ira Gallen collaborated on the cable TV show THE DIRECTORS SERIES, featuring John's incisive interviews with hundreds of cinema personalities past and present. Lee Marvin, Dennis Hopper, Sir Richard Attenborough, Sydney Pollack, Ralph Bellamy, Don Ameche, Anne Francis, James Toback, Robert Downey Sr., Wolfgang Petersen (in his first American interview upon the release of DAS BOOT), Sam Raimi (in his very first video interview, promoting THE EVIL DEAD) -- these are just a few of the many filmmakers represented in Gallagher's candid, in-depth filmmaker-on-filmmaker interviews. The shows were produced and edited by Gallen, photographed by Gallen and Billy Coleman (longtime SOPRANOS camera operator). MAS Reviews - BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974) - "An Underrated Classic By Far!!!"

As I tell everyone before I make a good review about a flick, HYPE KILLS!!! So I'll try to keep my favoritism to a minimum for this one but I know that might not happen. Just got thru watching the original "Black Christmas" after I ........ummmm.......never mind how I got it ;) ;)! But all I gotta say is...classics like 'Halloween', 'When A Stranger Calls' (original) and 'Scream' should be throwin' rose petals at this one for paving the way. Not saying its the best, but I will definately be picking this one up on my next Best Buy run. Just the thought of them touching this again with a "new" version coming out this Christmas makes me wanna go sip on spoiled egg nog. Lets just hope they dont mess it up....but from what I saw in the new trailers...a psycho killer in PJ's making x-mas cookies out of his victims lets me know its gonna suck a BiG DyyyyyyyyyyaaaaacK!!!! If your a horror fan, or just in for a good popcorn thriller, pick this up, if not at least rent it. MAS has spoken. :)
